About Us

Audubon Galleries offers the finest examples of the work by famed natural history artist John James Audubon, including editions of his prints in both elephant folio and smaller formats, as well as his books and even original artwork.

Founded in England in 1972, we have for the past forty-eight years formed and contributed to important private and corporate collections. We are renowned for our extensive print inventory which is unsurpassed in quality.

Audubon Galleries, along with its sister site Donald Heald Rare Books & Prints, offers material from the greatest age of natural history illustration, in ornithology, botany, zoology and related fields.

Besides original prints from the folio editions of Audubon's Birds and Quadrupeds, we frequently offer for sale complete sets of the octavo editions.  Furthermore, we hold the world's largest inventory of prints from the 1971-72 Amsterdam Edition of the Birds of America.

We are members of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America, where Mr. Heald has served on the Board of Governors as Treasurer,  Security Chairperson and Chairman of the New York Antiquarian Book Fair. We are members of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers, and the American Historical Print Collectors Society. Mr. Heald is a member of the Grolier Club, and the American Antiquarian Society.
